I think I know from the start, when a portrait session is not really a portrait session at all, but more a modelling session. That is when I try to elicit facial expressions and mould the person into the photo, rather than just making them look beautiful. These Big Room shoots, are definitely more modelling sessions. I know in my head, well before I start shooting, exactly what I am trying to achieve. That is why this gorgeous child was asked, because she has an unconventional and timeless beauty…she makes me think of hand painted portraits of days gone by.
